Mzaleka Refugee Camp Seminar and Door-to-Door Outreach, Feb 2025

Moses and the Lilongwe visited the refugee camp Mzaleka and held a 1-day seminar for 72 pastors and leaders, and a door-to-door outreach. The pastors and leaders were mostly from DRC, the Democratic Republic of Congo. The seminar was held in one of their churches in the camp. The church was a surprisingly nice building that had been built with funding from back home in Congo.  The Wheresoever Team was a combination of the core team near the Lilongwe base, and additional help from some of the people from Malingunde, another area where the Lilongwe team has been expanding the Kingdom of God.

Ever since the Malawi government started allowing church plants in the refugee camp, many churches have sprung up, especially since there were many refugees who had been pastors back home. But we understand that unity between these churches had been lacking. Wheresoever seems to be bringing that unity through their inter-denominational seminars. The government has noted that and has asked Wheresoever to come as often as they can, even provided a large shelter free of charge so that they can meet whenever they want to. According to the government, the level of violence and crime has decreased significantly, even stating that when the United Nations brought food there were usually fights for that food, but does not seem to happen much any more.

During the door-to-door outreach, the team visited many of the homes in the immediate area, presenting the Gospel and sharing the love of Jesus.  It was wonderful to see the healing of a man who previously could not walk.  See the video of the man.  When the video was taken, the team did not yet know that he couldn’t walk.  But after the prayer, he was very happy to be able to walk by himself.  The team will check on him the next time they go.  The other photo is of a couple from Congo who asked Moses to pray for them, then they received Jesus in their hearts.
